The vulcan
An iconic and historic hotel built in 1882. Warm hospitality, excellent meals and drinks to suit all. A proud, star attraction of the village and community hub. Keep an eye on their Instagram page for upcoming events.
The BLUE LAke
A star attraction for all ages, in all seasons. The Blue Lake is a fantastic summer swimming spot and a stunning winter one. Shrouded by history and mystery, it’s worth a visit. Bring your kayak or paddleboard!
The blue lake walk
A one (ish) hour, 2km walk along the spectacular cliffs and sluiced areas with iron remnants still scattered around. This track runs from opposite the Vulcan around the side of the Blue Lake and has helpful historical boards thoughout.
Historic buildings
Take a walk along the main road of St Bathans to learn more about the buildings, visit the churches and make sure to visit the hall next to The Vulcan.
the post office
The post office has been lovingly maintained by the community and is now owned by DOC. This is often open and holds much history, photos and relics from a bygone era.
The Gold Office
The Gold Office is a little store selling locally made crafts, clothing, art and collectibles on behalf of the talented community and its surrounds.
